| Getting around
Luxor is easy as transport is readily available 24 hours per day. There
is a constant supply of service cars and taxis at your disposal and you
will find that many of the places that you want to get to are actually within
walking distance of where you might be staying. The River Nile lies between
Luxor's two halves but getting across the river is not difficult and for
pleasure you might like to take an evening sail on a felucca to watch the
sunset over the Theban Hills. Traffic on the East Bank can be quite heavy
but it is light on the West Bank and ideal for bicycle riding and you can
rent a cycle easily and cheaply. For luxury you could take a luxoury cruise down to Aswan on a Cruise Ship, a Paddle Steamer or a Dahabaya and stop off at the temples on the way. |
